Exploring Tokyo Station: A Japanese Arcade Adventure in Arlington
By Electric Starship Arcade / May 14, 2025 / No Comments / Arcade
At Electric Starship Arcade, we’re always on the lookout for new arcade experiences and inspiration — and our recent visit to Free Play’s Tokyo Station in Arlington, TX delivered both in a big way!
Jose, Tara, Ricky, and I took the trip to check out this brand-new Japanese-themed arcade, and it was an absolute blast. If you’re a fan of unique gaming environments, rhythm games, and delicious Japanese snacks, Tokyo Station is a must-visit.

A New Spin on the Classic Arcade
Free Play has boldly transformed from their classic retro arcade model into something fresh and exciting. The space is now filled with authentic Japanese candy cabinets — those sleek, sit-down arcade machines that give the place a real Tokyo game center vibe.
They’ve also stocked the venue with a killer lineup of rhythm games, crane machines, and other imports you rarely see in the U.S. If you’re into music games or fast-paced button-mashing, this is your playground.

Can’t-Miss Games
Here are just a few of the standouts that kept us hooked:

🎮 Fun Fun Cup – A hilarious and frantic game where toss balls into an, all-to-realistic, animatronic Cup of Noodles! It’s just as crazy as it sounds…
🚃 Densha de Go! 3 – Fulfill your train conductor dreams with this detailed and challenging Japanese train simulator. I didn’t even know I wanted to be a train conductor!
🕹️ Bishi Bashi Channel – The ultimate party arcade game filled with rapid-fire mini-games and over-the-top fun.
These games aren’t just rare to see here in the states — they’re a blast to play and really show how diverse and creative arcade gaming can be.

Fuel Up with Ramen and Japanese Drinks
What’s a trip to Tokyo without the food? Tokyo Station also offers a selection of instant ramen and Japanese beverages, rounding out the cultural experience. Whether you’re sipping on a cold cocktail or slurping noodles between rounds, it’s the perfect way to recharge.

Support Local Arcades & Explore the Scene
We had a great time and left inspired. Visiting arcades like Tokyo Station reminds us how important it is to support local businesses and embrace new adventures in the gaming world. Whether you’re a rhythm game fanatic or just curious about what a Japanese-style arcade feels like, this is a trip worth making.
So next time you’re looking to level up your weekend plans, take the drive to Arlington and see Tokyo Station for yourself — and be sure to come say hi when you’re back at the Electric Starship Arcade. We’ll be here, with the chill vibes and the games going strong. Let us know what you think of Free Play’s Tokyo Station in the comments below!
